Abstraction is a student run magazine that is produced by the Academy. I was a part of a team who decided which pieces of work would get accepted, organized who worked on each spread along with laying out spreads myself. My second year I was a senior designer who art directed the junior designers with their spreads.

Our theme for the 2016 edition was Evolution of the Artist. We focused on the senior artists and how they can inspire the younger students. There was three winners and two featured artists that were chosen to be interviewed about their process and style. Along with the interviews there was also spreads of artwork we chose as a group that fit our theme well.

Abstraction started as a written publication with some art pieces. My team pushed the magazine to become more about the artwork. We worked on choosing pieces that complimented the poetry and short stories that were submitted.
